Unfortunately when it comes to matters surrounding Anti-social behaviour or issues arising between individual residents, property management companies have very limited powers, as these types of disputes do not fall within our remit.
This matter, especially surrounding short-term lets, is something that is being looked at by Local Councils and Government. We understand that some Councils have approached the Government to ask for an increase to the powers available to local authorities to manage these issues. They have proposed introducing a licensing system or strengthening planning restrictions, which would require new legislation. Your MSP or Local Council should be able to provide you with more detail.
The advice regarding anti-social behaviour remains the same and you should report any issues to your Local Council or to the Police. The Antisocial Behaviour Scotland Act 2004 can provide you with further information.
